Leicestershire Together published the first Leicestershire Community Strategy in 2003. This focussed on the things that are important to local people, identified through a range of community participation activities, and set out how local organisations and partnerships will work together to tackle these issues.
We reviewed our Community Strategy in 2005 and published a Review document covering the period 2005 – 2008, which reports back on progress to date and updates the action plan.
The aim underpinning both the original Community Strategy and the Review is to improve quality of life for people living, working and visiting Leicestershire.
We are currently in the process of producing a new Sustainable Community Strategy for 2008 - 2013. This will set out a new set of priorities for Leicestershire relating to people, themes and places. We have recently completed a completed a 10 week public consultation period on the Sustainable Community Strategy.
Follow the links on the SCS page to find out more about the draft structure of the new SCS, the timetable for developing both the SCS and our second Local Area Agreement.
