Citizens Panel - Leicestershire's Voice

What is Leicestershire's Voice?

  • Panel membership is open to anyone who lives in the county
  • Made up of 1500 people of different ages and backgrounds who have one thing in common – they all live in Leicestershire
  • It is a chance for you to share your views and ideas about the issues facing Leicestershire

What do I have to do?

  • As a panel member, you will receive 4 or 5 questionnaires a year
  • The questions will be about council services but will sometimes include other services like the police or health
  • Panels members may sometimes be invited to take part in group discussions or workshops, but this isn’t a must

How much of my time will it take?

  • Panel members fill in 4 or 5 questionnaires a year
  • Each questionnaire takes about 20 minutes – so in total about a couple of hours of your time in the whole year!

Why is it important?

  • We need to know what you think so that we can improve your local area
  • We need the views of all different ages and communities so that we can improve services for everyone
  • Your chance to have a say about the things that are important where you live

What happens to the results?

  • The Council looks at what residents are telling us and develops action plans and policies to improve things
  • Panel members get a newsletter telling them what the results were and what the council is doing about them
  • This information can also be found on the Leicestershire County Council website
