A district can receive over 1000 planning applications a year. The Leicester-Shire Partnership has integrated into the Planning Portal, a national tool, helping residents to view, complete, and submit planning applications over the web making it more convenient and easy for residents to go through the planning process

Residents have the right to be involved in the preparation of development plans. They should be able to easily view and comment on planning proposals, and submit their own applications with the minimum of hassle.

The ease of both filing and commenting on planning applications has a number of benefits:

Applicants can file plans in their own time, from their home or office
Higher involvement of people in the planning process
Less fuss for those wishing to examine plans
