Leicestershire Safer Communities Strategy Board was set up in 2008 to oversee delivery of safer communities in Leicestershire. The Board is responsible for:
- Delivery of the safer communities objectives within Leicestershire’s Local Area Agreement
- Bringing together local Community Safety Partnerships to develop a Safer Communities Agreement and
- Allocating the safer communities element of Area Based Grant Funding .

The Board meets approximately every two months and has an annual public meeting. Meeting dates, minutes, agendas and other Board papers are available on this site.
The Board is supported by a Senior Officer group made up of leads on each of the LAA priorities and representatives from District areas.
The Board brings together the resources of partners and oversees the Safer Communities element of the Area Based Grant to deliver Local Area Agreement and other Safer Communities Agreement priorities in making Leicestershire a safe place.
